Marcie Callan began her movement career in 2001. After her very first Pilates class, she knew it was time to hang up her high heels, leave the cubicle behind, and pursue a life of learning and teaching mind/body exercise. She began her Pilates training in Philadelphia and upon moving back to Pittsburgh was first certified through Michele Larsson’s Core Dynamics program. (Michele is a protege of Eve Gentry, one of the “elders” of our community who learned from Joseph Pilates himself.)
After opening Pilates Sol in 2010, Marcie was accepted into first generation elder Lolita San Miguel’s Master Pilates Program. She is thus one of only a few Pilates instructors in Pittsburgh who are considered Second Generation teachers.
Marcie is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, and is certified through the National Association of Speed and Explosion.
Anita’s love of movement began as a young girl- dancing, riding horses, biking, and ice skating. She graduated from Allegheny College where she was very involved in acting, singing, and was the student director of the modern dance company. She has her own photography business, Buzzy Photography, and has been shooting artistic portraits and weddings since 1996. She is a mother of two young girls, an avid equestrian and a Tai Chi and yoga enthusiast.
She is certified through Peak Pilates, has been teaching at Pilates Sol in downtown Pittsburgh since 2010, and recently started her own home studio in Squirrel Hill. “Pilates gives me strength, flexibility, control, grace, and overall energy and stamina in order to be able to enjoy my life more and do all the things I need to do. I love helping people feel their best through Pilates!”

Amy has lived in the Pittsburgh area for 18 years and has her Bachelor Degree in Art Education and is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist through Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.
“Pilates was developed to create a healthy body and mind through treating the body as the integrated whole that it is. It focuses on training the mind and body to work together towards the goal of overall fitness.” ~ Amy White

She is a traveler of the world and now attends conferences to enhance her understanding of the work while enjoying different cultures. She has a positive, laid back personality with an enthusiasm that will keep you moving without you even realizing you’re doing work. She is in tune with what the client is projecting and can help focus the client to get the most out of their session.
Professionally working in a Personal Care Home and as a contract bookkeeper, she knows how hard and stressful a work day can be. She believes and uses Pilates as therapy; you are there to focus on your mind and body. Everything else can wait.
